The project ‘Your dream job in the skilled trades’ helps to recruit young people for the skilled trades, and in particular to recruit women for technical and commercial skilled trades professions in order to secure skilled labour.
The project informs pupils, parents, teachers and multipliers at the transition from school to work about careers in the skilled trades. It supports cooperation between schools and the skilled trades, enables young people to gain practical experience through hands-on taster courses in the skilled trades, involves young people working in the skilled trades as training ambassadors and offers further training for multipliers and teachers. In addition, support is provided with job applications and young people are placed in training programmes in the skilled trades.
The project promotes women in the skilled trades by supporting female apprentices who are aiming to take a master craftsman's examination and providing career guidance in the skilled trades for women with life and career experience.
The project is part of the Masterplan Handwerk 2030 and supports Hamburg's strategy to secure a skilled workforce.
