Social Work and Participation in Bergedorf
Sprungbrett gGmbH
Project term: 01.01.2025 - 31.12.2028

The ‘Social Work and Participation in Bergedorf’ project run by Sprungbrett Dienstleistungen gGmbH promotes the participation of long-term unemployed people in receipt of SGB II benefits. Using the funding instrument ‘Participation in the labour market’ (§ 16i SGB II), the people are employed subject to social insurance contributions and their daily structure and employability are strengthened. The aim is to give them the prospect of moving into unsubsidised employment and to bring them closer to the general labour market in the long term.
By employing people to maintain the grounds of the Neuengamme concentration camp memorial, the programme supports a cultural and historical institution that forms an important meeting place in the Bergedorf district and thus improves the quality of community life in the district. In the Bergedorf-West development area of the ‘Framework Integrated Urban Development Hamburg‘ (RISE), employees are deployed to provide everyday support for older people and people in need of assistance.
The project supports Hamburg's strategy to secure a skilled workforce and the Joint Labour Market Programme.
