Labor market participation & donation distribution
Hanseatic Help e. V.
Project term: 01.01.2025 - 31.12.2028

Hanseatic Help e. V.'s “Labour market participation & donation distribution” project promotes the participation of long-term unemployed people on SGB II benefits. Using the funding instrument ‘Participation in the labour market’ (§ 16i SGB II), the individuals are employed subject to social insurance contributions and their daily structure and employability are strengthened. The aim is to give them the prospect of moving into unsubsidised employment and to move closer to the general labour market in the long term.
By deploying employees to sell donations in kind, in particular textiles donated by private households or companies for people in need, such as refugees, homeless people or benefit recipients, social support services for disadvantaged and low-income groups are strengthened. The specific locations are the logistics centre for donations in kind and several Hanseatic Help Stores spread across the city, where people in need can obtain clothing and toiletries individually and in a dignified and self-determined manner.
The project supports Hamburg's strategy to secure a skilled workforce and the Joint Labour Market Programme.
