Social integration of addiction-prone people

The ‘House for Social Integration for People with a History of Addiction’ in Hamburg-Harburg offers supportive programmes aimed at residents in the city district who have been jobless for a longer period and have a history of addiction.
The goal is to contribute to improving the employability of these people by offering extensive counselling programmes, including a day-job market. The project also offers an open and tolerant daily meeting space for organising leisure activities. The meeting space is divided into an area where ‘light’ alcoholic beverages (beer, wine) and cigarettes can be consumed and one where none of these substances may be consumed (clean space). The clean space is an important development for the project.
The project supports the Framework Integrated Urban Development Hamburg (RISE).
